The Lifeguard training course at Camp Friendship!
The course offered at Camp Friendship is the American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Training course. *At the completion of this course, the participant will be eligible to work at a pool or a lake. The lifeguard training course will certify and include the following for all students.
- American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard/First Aid
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Textbook and Pocket Mask will be provided
Participants must pass a 550 yard swim test, using the front crawl and breaststroke, swim to retrieve a 10 pound brick from the depth of 7-10 feet, and retrieve a set of rings underwater. This test takes place on the first day of class. Participants must attend all classes, learn/perform all skills, pass the written exam, and pass the final skills test in order to receive certification. Students should bring a bathing suit, a towel, notebook, pen, pencil, and a change of clothing each day to class.
Cost: $350.00 includes room and board plus the training course.
Cost: $250.00 does not include room and board, only the training course is included.
