New Families

Dear New Families,

Thank you for your interest in Camp Friendship. For over 40 years we strongly believed that camp creates powerful, positive experience for young children. Community living, away from home, in an outdoor, recreational setting provides a foundation for tremendous growth. Best of all, camp is fun. Great friends, exciting activities, and an atmosphere that lets young people be themselves are just three of the reasons why camp is so much fun.

We understand your anxieties about letting your child go away to camp. Who will take care of my child? What is the food like? Will he participate in camp activities? Will she turn homesick? What are the counselors like?

Here is a piece of advice to put your worries at ease:

  1. Make sure you learn about Camp Friendship from this website or our print materials. Read camp philosophy and mission, the history of camp as well as information about our staff.
  2. We encourage you give us a call to request any additional information you would like to have about our camp, such as camp video, brochures, etc.
  3. If you have any specific questions or confidential issues to discuss you can always request a phone conference with Camp Director, Owner or Assistant Directors. Camp office secretaries and registrars are very friendly and will be very helpful for you.
  4. Some of our loyal families serve as references for new families. You can call the office and ask for a family reference contact information.
  5. Schedule a camp tour. We are open year round and offer individual camp tours for families. You can request your tour by calling toll-free number at 800-873-3223
